Muladhara is our root chakra, representing our most basic needs and energies. It is said to sit in the cervix in female bodies and within the perineum in male bodies.

Muladhara chakra is represented by a crimson red four-petaled lotus, containing the symbol for earth element: a yellow cube. Within the yellow cube lies an inverted triangle, symbol for shakti or creative energy, and the serpent of kundalini, coiled around a grey lingam.

Moola means “root” in Sanskrit and I believe that integrating an awareness of this energy can help us ground into our own true nature, to the Earth that sustains, and to our innate wholeness.
